The Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Association of Lady Pharmacists (ALPs) commemorated the 2026 International Day of the Girl Child with an advocacy visit to Holy Child Girls’ Secondary School, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.

The visit centred on the 2026 theme, “Ending Child Marriage, Investing in Girls’ Rights,” providing an opportunity to engage students on the importance of protecting the rights of girls, preventing child marriage and creating opportunities for every girl to achieve her full potential.

During the visit, discussions were held around the importance of girls’ education, personal development, access to opportunities and the need to protect young girls from harmful practices that could limit their future.

The school principal warmly welcomed the Association and appreciated its efforts towards promoting awareness and advocating for the rights and wellbeing of the girl child.
