AKWA IBOM STATE COMMEMORATES WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2026
The Association of Lady Pharmacists (ALPs), Akwa Ibom State Chapter proudly joins the global community in commemorating World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, with the theme:
“Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.”
In line with our commitment to promoting the health and well-being of women and girls, ALPs Akwa Ibom State Chapter will be at Community Secondary School, Idung Inang, Eket on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, to educate, empower, and support adolescent girls with the knowledge and resources they need to manage menstruation safely and confidently.
The outreach will feature:
- Health talks on menstrual hygiene
- Myth-busting and menstrual health education
- Demonstrations on proper menstrual hygiene management
- Distribution of free sanitary products and counseling
- Interactive question-and-answer session
Menstrual hygiene is a fundamental right, not a privilege. By breaking myths, ending stigma, and ensuring access to accurate information and menstrual products, we can help every girl stay healthy, confident, and in school.
Together, let’s break the silence, end the stigma, and build a more period-friendly world.
